Former Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo is pushing for a return to Serie A this summer and aiming to rejuvenate his club career.
It’s been a rollercoaster for the 24 year-old ever since he left the Giallorossi and joined Galatasaray in February 2023. He started well with the Turkish giants but left just six months later, moving to Aston Villa on a €5 million loan deal with a conditional obligation to buy for €27 million.
However, Zaniolo struggled with the club and ended the season with 3 goals in 39 total appearances across all competitions—Villa ultimately rejecting the opportunity to make the deal permanent.
Now back at Gala, Enrico Camelio of Radio Radio reports Atalanta are the frontrunners over Fiorentina to land the versatile attacker and bring him back to Serie A this summer.
Although, Zaniolo was initially interested in a move to Firenze for family reasons, La Dea presented him with a better offer.
