Atletico Madrid is reportedly in the market for a new forward this summer, following the departures of Memphis Depay and the potential return of Alvaro Morata to Juventus. Among the potential targets are Girona’s Artem Dovbyk and Fiorentina’s Nicolas Gonzalez.
Gonzalez, a 26-year-old Argentine currently competing in the Copa America, had an impressive season with Fiorentina in 2023-24, scoring 16 goals across all competitions. While he has attracted interest from the Premier League in recent years, reports suggest that he would only consider leaving Fiorentina for Atletico Madrid.
Despite the interest, Atletico Madrid is not currently pursuing Gonzalez as they have other priorities. However, the possibility of a move for the Argentine attacker in the upcoming summer transfer window cannot be ruled out, as the club may decide to make a move if the right opportunity presents itself.
