Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo has decided to put discussions with West Ham United on hold as Juventus has initiated talks to secure the French player in the upcoming summer transfer window, as reported in Italy.
Initially, Todibo was rumored to be moving to Manchester United. However, both clubs are under the same ownership group, INEOS, and with both teams scheduled to participate in the Europa League next season, a transfer between them this summer has been prohibited by UEFA.
Despite interest from West Ham, the recent acquisition of English center-back Max Kilman for a reported €47m (£40m) makes a move to East London unlikely for Todibo, who previously played for Barcelona.
Several reports from Italy have indicated that Todibo could be obtained for around €35m this summer. Juventus, who also recently finalized the transfer of Khephren Thuram, are eager to strengthen their ties with Nice.
