Genoa CEO Andres Blazquez has stated that there have not been any official offers for Albert Gudmundsson despite interest from Inter Milan and Fiorentina. Blazquez mentioned that there has been interest in Inter’s new goalkeeper Josep Martinez from both Serie A and the Premier League this summer.
Gudmundsson has been at the center of transfer rumors in Serie A this summer due to his impressive performance last season, where he scored fourteen goals and provided seven assists for Genoa. Inter has shown strong interest in signing the 26-year-old Icelandic forward, seeing him as a valuable addition to their attack. Fiorentina is also reportedly interested in pursuing Gudmundsson, along with other Serie A clubs like Roma, Napoli, and Juventus. Additionally, Tottenham Hotspur from the Premier League has expressed interest in the player.
Blazquez confirmed that several clubs have inquired about Gudmundsson but clarified that there have been no official offers made yet. He mentioned that Genoa turned down a €30 million offer from Fiorentina in January to prioritize their performance in the league. Blazquez emphasized the importance of retaining Gudmundsson to achieve their goals.
Regarding Martinez, Blazquez revealed that Genoa is in advanced discussions with Inter for the goalkeeper’s transfer. He expressed hope that Martinez would have already joined Inter by the time of the interview’s publication. Blazquez also noted interest from the Premier League and other Italian clubs in Martinez’s services.
