Khephren Thuram has fulfilled a lifelong dream by joining Juventus, a club he has admired since childhood when his father, Lilian, played for the Bianconeri. The midfielder completed his move from OGC Nice for €20 million plus potential add-ons of up to €600,000, setting up a potential clash with his older brother Marcus, who plays for Inter.
Born in Italy in March 2001, just before his father’s transfer from Parma to Juventus, Thuram expressed his excitement about joining the club, saying, “I dreamed of joining Juventus since I was a child, so I am very emotional and happy at this special day.” He reminisced about his father’s time at Juventus and the influence of players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Upon his arrival at Juventus, Thuram was welcomed by Gianluca Pessotto, a former player and current director whom he considers as family due to his upbringing around the club. Thuram revealed that his initial contact with Juventus was when he was playing for Monaco at 17, and he was thrilled when the club showed interest in him again.
Thuram is eager to contribute to Juventus’ midfield under new coach Thiago Motta, highlighting his versatility in both defense and attack. He expressed his love for the game and his desire to win, stating, “I like to run with the ball, defend, but also attack. I love football, I enjoy being on the pitch with my teammates and winning.”
In conclusion, Thuram greeted the fans and expressed his enthusiasm for the future, saying, “Fino alla fine,” which translates to “Until the end.”
