Napoli has officially announced the acquisition of defender Alessandro Buongiorno from Torino. Despite competition from Juventus, Napoli was able to secure the services of the Italian international, with Buongiorno signing a five-year contract with the club.
Buongiorno gained recognition during the 2023/24 season, making 29 appearances and scoring three goals for Torino as they finished ahead of Napoli in Serie A. His impressive performances caught the attention of the Italian national team, although he did not feature in any matches during EURO 2024 under coach Luciano Spalletti.
The 25-year-old has now completed a move to the Stadio Diego Maradona in a transfer deal reportedly worth around €35 million.
