Monza is in search of a replacement for Michele Di Gregorio, and they have their eyes set on Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny. The Italian club recently acquired Di Gregorio for €18 million, strengthening their squad under manager Thiago Motta. With Mattia Perin staying put, Szczesny has become surplus to requirements at Juventus.
Despite Juventus’ attempts to send Szczesny to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, a deal couldn’t be reached, leading to the collapse of the transfer. Sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is still eager to offload the Polish goalkeeper in the near future.
According to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport via TMW, Monza’s director Adriano Galliani is envisioning a move for Szczesny from Juventus to fill the void left by Di Gregorio. The lack of interest from other clubs in Szczesny has given Monza hope of securing his services. Additionally, Monza is considering other options such as Pierluigi Gollini from Atalanta, Lorenzo Montipo from Hellas Verona, and Emil Audero from Sampdoria as potential alternatives.
