IF24 Desk

Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic is on the verge of completing a move to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League. Here is a comprehensive overview of the 26-year-old defender’s career path and current situation.

Nikola Milenkovic, a 6’5 center-back, has predominantly played his professional football in Italy with Fiorentina. Hailing from Belgrade, he started his journey in the youth academy of Partizan and gained senior experience on loan at Teleoptik. He returned to Partizan at the age of 19 in 2016, featuring prominently in the first team with 32 appearances in the Serbian SuperLiga.

In 2017, Fiorentina secured Milenkovic’s services for a reported fee of €5.1m. Since then, he has been a key figure in their defense, playing an average of 33.3 league matches per season over the past six years. Additionally, he has contributed 11 appearances per season in UEFA competitions, playing a crucial role in Fiorentina’s journey to consecutive Europa Conference League finals.

Milenkovic was also part of the squad that helped Fiorentina qualify for European competition after a five-year absence. He gained recognition on the international stage during England’s EURO 2024 victory over Serbia.

Currently, Milenkovic is in talks with Nottingham Forest for a transfer worth €12m plus bonuses. Both clubs have agreed on the transfer fee, and negotiations are underway to finalize the deal. The defender is under contract with Fiorentina until the summer of 2027.

Reports suggest that the deal between Fiorentina and Nottingham Forest is expected to be completed by the end of Tuesday, highlighting the imminent move for Milenkovic to the English midlands.
