Juventus has now entered the race alongside Inter Milan to secure the services of Genoa striker Albert Gudmundsson during this summer’s transfer window. The transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio from Sky Sport Italia has reported that both Inter Milan and Juventus are considering the possibility of bringing in the Icelandic forward on an initial loan deal.

Gudmundsson has emerged as a sought-after player in Serie A this summer, following an impressive season with Genoa where he scored fourteen goals and provided seven assists. Despite facing legal issues in Iceland related to an alleged sexual assault case, top Italian clubs like Inter and Juventus are still keen on acquiring the 26-year-old forward.

While Inter has been strongly linked with Gudmundsson for some time now, Juventus has also expressed interest in signing the player. According to Di Marzio, both clubs are contemplating a similar deal structure for Gudmundsson, involving an initial loan fee of around €10 million and a purchase option worth approximately €15 million.

The competition between Inter and Juventus to secure Gudmundsson’s services may come down to which club makes the first move in the transfer market. With a few weeks remaining in the summer transfer window, both clubs are looking to strengthen their squads, with Inter eyeing Gudmundsson as a key target to bolster their attacking options, while Juventus aims to reinforce their team under new coach Thiago Motta.
