Monza defeat prompts Galliani to discuss Szczesny and Colpani progress

IF24 Desk

Monza’s CEO Adriano Galliani has acknowledged discussions with Juventus regarding Wojciech Szczesny and with Fiorentina regarding Andrea Colpani, but stressed that nothing concrete has been agreed upon. Meanwhile, Monza suffered a defeat to Palermo in their third pre-season friendly match.

The club is gearing up for the new season under the guidance of new coach Alessandro Nesta, following Raffaele Palladino’s departure to Fiorentina. Despite initial expectations, Nesta has implemented different tactical instructions for the midfielders, which Galliani hopes the players will adapt to quickly before the start of the official matches.

Monza is eyeing Juventus goalkeeper Szczesny, who has been displaced by Michele Di Gregorio’s arrival at Juventus. Galliani stated, “Szczesny is aware of our interest. I did not speak directly to him, but I did talk to someone else.” Additionally, there are rumors circulating about Palladino’s desire to reunite with attacking midfielder Colpani at Fiorentina, although nothing concrete has materialized yet.

Galliani also confirmed that Pedro Pereira will continue under Nesta’s leadership, rejecting an approach from Palermo. The club is also in discussions with free agent Stefano Sensi, whose contract expired on June 30.
