Mattia De Sciglio has criticized Juventus after being excluded from the pre-season training camp, stating that “I want to make it clear this was purely a decision from the club.”
The team traveled to Nuremberg for intensive training under new coach Thiago Motta, but De Sciglio was among those left behind for unspecified reasons. Reports suggested it was due to fitness issues, which De Sciglio vehemently denied on his Instagram Stories.
He addressed the situation by stating, “In recent hours, I heard some inaccuracies about me. I want to make clear that I am fine and do not have any physical problems, so I was not called up purely as a decision from the club.”
De Sciglio urged journalists to verify information before spreading false news. It is not surprising that he was left out, as he is not part of Motta’s future plans. The versatile full-back, who can play on both sides, has a contract until 2025 and was a favorite of former coach Max Allegri from their time together at Milan.
After joining Juventus in 2017 for €12m, De Sciglio spent the 2020-21 season on loan at Olympique Lyonnais.
