Leonardo Bonucci, the iconic former Juventus defender, expressed his anticipation for the excitement that new Bianconeri coach Thiago Motta will bring, while also offering advice to Italy’s Federico Chiesa amidst doubts about his future with the club.

In a brief interview with Sky Sport Italia at the Giffoni Film Festival in Campania, Bonucci shared his thoughts on Juventus, Thiago Motta, and Federico Chiesa. He noted that Juventus has already shown improvement this summer with the signings of Michele Di Gregorio, Douglas Luiz, Khephren Thuram, and Juan Cabal.

Bonucci believes that Thiago Motta will introduce an exhilarating style of football, drawing from his successful stint with Bologna last season. “Staying away from Juventus, emotionally speaking, is impossible for me. It was and is part of my football faith and as part of my life as a footballer,” Bonucci remarked. “Thiago Motta has a strong squad, one that has improved with the purchases made. He will entertain us, and I hope he can return to fighting for the Scudetto, right from the start until the very end. I am sure he will demonstrate his value. He has the hallmarks of a great coach.”

Regarding Federico Chiesa, Bonucci emphasized the need for him to reassess his goals and priorities for the upcoming season. Despite speculation about a potential departure from Juventus this summer, Bonucci expressed hope that Chiesa would remain with the club. “I think he needs to understand what it is that he wants. In recent years, he had difficulties in terms of physicality and character, now he needs to take another step to become a top player. I hope he will be at Juventus,” Bonucci stated.
