Juventus is on the brink of making an improved offer to Atalanta for midfielder Teun Koopmeiners following the recent departures of Matias Soule and Dean Huijsen. The club has agreed to sell Soule to Roma for €25.6m, with an additional €4m in bonuses, while Huijsen’s transfer has brought in €15.2m plus €3m in add-ons. These sales have generated over €40m in guaranteed fees for Juventus.
The funds raised from these transfers will be used to increase the offer for Koopmeiners, who is a top target for the club this summer. Juventus initially bid €45m for the Dutch international, but Atalanta is holding out for €60m.
In addition to the financial boost from player sales, Juventus could also save money on wages with the departure of Adrien Rabiot, whose contract expires at the end of June. Despite offering Rabiot a lucrative two-year extension, he declined the offer, prompting the club to explore other options.
Furthermore, there is potential for Federico Chiesa to be sold as he enters the final year of his contract at Juventus. The club is considering offloading him now to avoid losing him on a free transfer in the future.
