Bournemouth Secures Defender with ‘Exciting Potential’ After Fending Off Liverpool and PSG, Club Executive Reveals

Paris Saint-Germain has missed out on a potential signing in former Juventus star Dean Huijsen, who has opted to join Bournemouth in the Premier League. Despite reported interest from PSG, Liverpool, and Newcastle United, Huijsen has reached a verbal agreement with Bournemouth for a transfer fee of €18 million plus a sell-on clause.

Bournemouth’s chief executive, Neill Blake, expressed his excitement about the acquisition, stating, “We are delighted to bring in a player of such high calibre on a long-term deal. Dean is someone that has such exciting potential and we are all excited to see where his journey with the club will go. We’re looking forward to welcoming him to Vitality Stadium and working together to help develop further all the qualities that he already possesses.”

Huijsen, who impressed during his loan spell at Roma last season with 26 appearances, two goals, and two assists, adds depth to Bournemouth’s defensive lineup. The move leaves PSG contemplating their next steps to strengthen their center-back position.
