Roma has reached out to Juventus for information on Federico Chiesa, who is being pursued by Inter Milan. According to La Repubblica, Chiesa is eager to play in the Champions League next season. The Italy international’s future is uncertain as new Juventus manager Thiago Motta has ruled him out, potentially ending his time in Turin.
Chiesa has multiple options on the table, including Inter, Roma, Barcelona, and Manchester United. Despite offers from Turkey and Saudi Arabia, Chiesa is focused on playing in the Champions League, putting Inter in a strong position to secure his signature. Roma attempted to lure him with a €15-18 million offer and the inclusion of Stephan El Shaarawy, but Chiesa’s preference for Champions League football may thwart their efforts.
Inter is now seen as Chiesa’s most likely destination, given their Champions League status. Roma and Napoli are also interested, with Antonio Conte’s side considering a swap deal involving Giacomo Raspadori. However, Inter’s sporting director, Beppe Marotta, is cautious about overspending for Chiesa.
With time on their side, Inter can afford to wait for the right moment to make a move, knowing that Juventus cannot afford to lose Chiesa for free in the near future. Chiesa remains a valuable asset for the Bianconeri, making his transfer a significant decision for all parties involved.
