Juventus loan Rugani to Ajax, announce two transfers in squad shake-up

IF24 Desk

Juventus have made significant moves in the transfer market, with Daniele Rugani set to join Ajax on loan without an option to buy. The defender, who recently extended his contract until 2026, is not part of new coach Thiago Motta’s plans at the club. Despite interest from Genoa, Atalanta, and Al-Shabab, Rugani’s preference has always been Ajax, where he is wanted by coach Francesco Farioli.

According to reports from Calciomercato.it and Sportitalia, Rugani’s agent Davide Torchia met with Juventus directors to confirm the player’s desire to join Ajax. The deal is expected to be a dry loan, with Ajax covering all of Rugani’s wages for the 2024-25 season. However, Ajax will need to make room in their defense by selling a player before completing the transfer.

In other news, Juventus have officially sold Marley Aké to Yverdon Sport FC in Switzerland. Additionally, Nicolò Savona has signed a contract extension until 2029 and has been promoted to the senior squad under Thiago Motta. The versatile 21-year-old can play on the right side of defense or midfield, as well as in central defense.
