Juventus set to secure Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina in €30m deal

Juventus is on the brink of securing the signing of Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina on a loan deal with an obligation to buy for €30m. This move comes after Fiorentina excluded Gonzalez from their friendly squad, indicating his imminent departure.

The Argentine forward had attracted interest from Atalanta and had previously been linked with a move to the Premier League with Brighton and Hove Albion. Transfer expert Matteo Moretto, along with reports from Calciomercato.com, suggest that the deal to bring Gonzalez to Turin is close to completion.

The agreement is expected to be a loan deal with an obligation to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season for around €30m. There is a possibility that this fee could be reduced if a player is included in the deal, with Weston McKennie being mentioned as a potential candidate. However, McKennie would need to lower his wage demands for this to materialize.

In addition to Gonzalez, Juventus had been considering other options for the wide attacking role, such as Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund and Galeno from FC Porto. Initial interest in Jadon Sancho was dismissed after he resolved his differences with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.

Fiorentina’s decision to omit Gonzalez from their squad for an upcoming friendly match against SC Freiburg further indicates that the player is on his way out of the club.
