Juventus and AC Milan are reportedly considering a potential swap deal involving Federico Chiesa and Alexis Saelemaekers. According to Tuttosport, Juventus believe they have found a solution to Chiesa’s situation that would benefit all parties involved.
Chiesa, the Italian winger, seems to be on the outs with the new Thiago Motta project at Juventus and is actively seeking a new club. Milan has been linked with Chiesa, and there may be an opportunity to acquire him without a hefty transfer fee.
Saelemaekers, who worked under Thiago Motta at Bologna last season, did not have his deal made permanent due to a coaching change. With Motta now at Juventus, the Bianconeri have shown interest in the Belgian winger and could propose a swap deal where Milan gains Chiesa as an additional wide option, while Saelemaekers reunites with a coach he had success with.
One potential hurdle is Chiesa’s current salary of €5 million plus bonuses, which may not align with Milan’s wage structure. However, signing an Italian player like Chiesa could be advantageous for Milan in meeting registration requirements, as the squad currently lacks Italian players.
