Genoa’s Potential Delay in Nico Gonzalez’s Move to Juventus Despite Agreement

Juventus and Fiorentina have reached an agreement on the transfer fee for Nico Gonzalez, but Fiorentina is hesitant to let the Argentine go until they secure a deal for Albert Gudmundsson. Genoa, on the other hand, is not keen on losing Gudmundsson until they find a suitable replacement for him.

Nico Gonzalez finds himself in the midst of a Serie A transfer saga as reports confirm Juventus’ willingness to pay €30m for his services. The player has expressed his desire to leave Fiorentina in pursuit of Champions League football.

Sky Sport Italia reports that Fiorentina had previously rejected offers from Brentford and Leicester City for Gonzalez but had assured him that they would allow his departure under the right circumstances. However, negotiations with Genoa for Gudmundsson could cause a slight delay in Gonzalez’s move to Juventus.

Gudmundsson has been a target for Fiorentina since the beginning of the transfer window, but a deal has not yet been finalized. Genoa’s reluctance to part ways with Gudmundsson has increased after selling Mateo Retegui to Atalanta last week.

If Genoa fails to find suitable replacements for Gudmundsson, Fiorentina’s attempts to sign him could collapse, leading to further complications in the transfer of Nico Gonzalez to Juventus.
