Fiorentina President halts Nico Gonzalez’s move to Juventus as Inter pursues Gudmundsson

IF24 Desk

Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso has reportedly halted Nico Gonzalez’s transfer to Juventus, while Inter is intensifying their efforts to secure Albert Gudmundsson from Genoa.

Although there was an initial agreement between club directors for a €30m deal, multiple reports suggest that Commisso has intervened to block the transfer, as stated by Sport Mediaset, Corriere dello Sport, and Tuttosport.

Corriere dello Sport reports that Commisso is adamant about not selling Nico, regardless of the potential acquisition of Albert Gudmundsson from Genoa. On the other hand, Sport Mediaset suggests that Fiorentina’s struggles to secure the Iceland international may have influenced this decision.

Despite these developments, Inter is still keen on signing Gudmundsson and is actively pursuing the Genoa player. There are speculations that Inter might explore a loan swap deal involving Marko Arnautovic, even though the Austrian’s salary might pose a challenge for Genoa.

Negotiations between Inter and Genoa have resumed, while the prospect of Nico Gonzalez joining Juventus seems to be fading.
