Samuel Iling-Junior returns to Serie A with Bologna on loan

IF24 Desk

Samuel Iling-Junior is poised to make a quick return to Serie A with Bologna, just weeks after departing Juventus to join Aston Villa. Bologna has successfully negotiated a season-long loan deal with the Premier League club, with no option to buy included, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio on Friday evening.

This agreement comes shortly after Iling-Junior’s move back to England at the beginning of July. The talented winger, who previously featured for the Juventus first team from 2022 to 2024, joined Aston Villa alongside Enzo Barrenechea in a separate deal from Douglas Luiz’s transfer to Juventus. Despite the transactions being handled separately for accounting purposes, Aston Villa reportedly agreed to pay Juventus €14m plus bonuses spread over four financial years.

Iling-Junior, at just 20 years old, has already amassed 36 Serie A appearances and two league goals during his time with Juventus. The upcoming loan move to Bologna signifies a new chapter in his promising career. As Sky Sport reports, “#Calciomercato | @Bolognafc1909, in arrivo Samuel #IlingJunior in prestito secco dall’@AVFCOfficial @SkySport.”
