Juventus and Genoa finalize loan deal for midfielder Miretti

IF24 Desk

Juventus and Genoa have reached an agreement for the loan transfer of Italy midfielder Fabio Miretti, who will be joining Alberto Gilardino’s team on a straight 12-month deal.

The deal between the two clubs was finalized on Friday afternoon, and Miretti is expected to undergo a medical examination before the next Serie A fixtures begin on Saturday. It remains uncertain whether the 21-year-old will be eligible to play in Gilardino’s squad against Monza on Saturday night.

Miretti has slipped down the pecking order at Juventus following the arrival of Thiago Motta, who has added Khephren Thuram and Douglas Luiz to his midfield options this summer. Despite this, Juventus extended Miretti’s contract earlier this summer, which will now run until June 2028.

Last season, the 21-year-old featured in 28 matches across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing two assists. He also made his debut for the senior Italy national team under Roberto Mancini in November 2022, coming on as a substitute for Nicolo Barella in a friendly against Austria.

“.@GenoaCFC, è fatta per l’arrivo di Fabio #Miretti dalla #Juventus. Nelle prossime ore ci saranno le visite mediche del centrocampista.”
