Arsenal eyeing bargain deal for Juventus striker as contract nears end

IF24 Desk

Arsenal is reportedly gearing up to make a formal bid for a top player from Juventus this summer, as per reports from Italian outlet Tutto Juve. The Gunners are looking to strengthen their attacking options at the end of the season and could revisit their interest in a player they have been eyeing for a while.

Dusan Vlahovic was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal while he was at Fiorentina, but he ultimately chose to join Juventus in 2022. However, speculation about his future has not died down, especially with his contract with the Bianconeri set to expire in less than 16 months. Arsenal is now reportedly ready to make a move for the 25-year-old and could offer £25m for his services.

While Juventus may ask for more, the situation with Vlahovic’s contract means they may have to accept a lower offer. Despite his impressive goal-scoring record in the past, there are doubts about whether he would be a good fit for Arsenal’s style of play.

Vlahovic has not been as prolific since joining Juventus, with only 55 goals in 135 appearances across all competitions. While he started the current season well, his form has dipped under new manager Thiago Motta, with just 14 goals and two assists in 33 appearances. There are concerns about his ability to consistently find the back of the net, especially compared to other potential options like Kai Havertz or Gabriel Jesus.

While Vlahovic could be a valuable addition as a backup striker, Arsenal may need to look elsewhere for a more reliable goal scorer to lead their attack. Stats from Transfermarkt.com & Sofascore.com.
