Earlier today, Inter met with Italian agent Tullio Tinti to discuss the contractual situation regarding the defender Alessandro Bastoni.
The 23 year-old has only fifteen months remaining on his current deal and the Nerazzurri are keen to sign him to a new long-term contract, as they consider him one of the team’s foundational pieces.
When asked about any updates on talks, Tinti moved to reassure Inter supporters, insisting discussions are still in an early phase.
“These have been the first set of meetings, we’re talking and there’s going to be plenty of time in the coming weeks,” he told reporters outside the club’s headquarters.
“He’s been an Inter supporter his entire life, there’s not much to say other than the two sides are in discussions.”
Adding, “Should the supporters be anxious? Neither myself nor Bastoni have taken them for a ride. It’s you (the media) that spread any rumors.”
“Obviously many clubs are interested in him but he’s an Inter supporter and wants to stay at Inter.”
