Italian agent Federico Pastorello was in attendance for the Golden Boy awarded presented by Tuttosport where he discussed the future of his client, Inter defender Stefan de Vrij.
The Dutchman’s deal expires at the end of this month but Pastorello expressed optimism that the two sides will reach an agreement on an extension.
“We’re still defining everything a bit,” he told the media. “The two sides have discussed everything and we just need to finalise the last final bits.”
“But I’m extremely optimistic he’ll stay at Inter. It’s true he received an extremely interesting proposal from Saudi Arabia but he’s still 31 years-old and doesn’t feel like making this sort of decision.”
Finally, “I say that with all due respect to those who chose different. Stefan still has a lot to give, he’s very close to Inter and the supporters.”
“He made the decision to stay and still feels like he has a lot to give to the club and to European football in general.”
