Juventus boss Max Allegri confirmed earlier today that midfielder Weston McKennie is on the verge of a transfer switch to Leeds United.
Following extensive negotiations, the Livorno-born technician revealed the American international wouldn’t be called-up for the team’s league fixture on Sunday against Monza after the club reached an agreement for his departure.
“McKennie will not be available tomorrow because he’s the subject of a transfer negotiation,” said Allegri.
“I think the club has already found an agreement with his new team so it’s pointless to call him up for tomorrow.”
The former Schalke man is joining the Premier League side on loan for €1.5 million with an option to buy for €35 million. Though, the option turns into an obligation to buy should certain sporting criteria be reached.
