Juventus boss Max Allegri didn’t hold back from criticising his team’s abhorrent performance following their 2-0 defeat this afternoon versus Monza.

The Bianconeri conceded twice in the first half then failed to find the back of the net, dropping points for the third match in a row after being deducted 15-points last week.

“I don’t think we’ve ever had a first half as poor as that today,” said Allegri at full-time.

“We improved after the break but we must look at those opening 45 minutes, all of us, and take responsibility for it. We came back well against Atalanta but we really are leaking too many goals. Monza found it way too easy to play their way out today.”

“We know we’ve earned 38 points. However, at the moment we only have 23. That’s the situation. We must go back to where we were before the game against Napoli – since then we haven’t been totally on the ball mentally.”

“We have to knuckle down and those who aren’t up to it can sit out. We simply must get points on the board and realise the position we’re in, momentarily at least.”

Finally, “We need to stay calm but also get angry and show our mean streak. We have a knockout tie to play on Thursday but every match has to take priority. We must pull ourselves out of this vortex.”
