Atalanta dropped points for the third match in a row, losing valuable ground in the race for a top four place.

La Dea were held 0-0 at home by Udinese this evening despite commanding nearly 70% possession while tallying 17 shots in total against Andrea Sottil’s men.

Even though his side dropped two potentially crucial points, Atalanta gaffer Gian Piero Gasperini was happy with his team’s performance.

“Indeed, the only thing missing today was a goal. Without a doubt the performance was very solid overall,” he told the club’s official television channel at full time.

“We’re still stuck in that patch of the season where a victory evades us, especially in home matches. Though, I still think our mindset should be focused on the positives from this game.”

He added, “We’re still dealing with a lot of injuries and we’re sweating the status of Koopmeiners (who came out injured late in the first half).”

“Nonetheless, the lads put in a very good performance today and we deserved to win. As a manager, a performance like tonight’s doesn’t bother you despite the final result.”
