Atalanta has officially announced the completion of the permanent transfer of Charles De Ketelaere from Milan after they exercised the option to make his loan deal permanent.
After a rough start to life in Serie A with the Rossoneri, the Belgian flourished this past season with La Dea, culminating in their Europa League triumph over Bayer Leverkusen last month. He ended the season with totals of 14 goals and 11 assists in 50 matches across all competitions, and played a vital role in Gian Piero Gasperini’s attack.
After initially paying €3 million to acquire De Ketelaere on loan, Atalanta exercised the buy option included in the deal worth an additional €22 million plus €2 million in add-ons plus a 10% future resale clause.
They reportedly tried to negotiate a discount, but Milan stood firm on their valuation of the player.
