Barcelona is determined to secure a left winger this summer, with Federico Chiesa from Juventus emerging as a potential target. Chiesa, who is set to become a free agent next summer, has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Barcelona, willing to take a wage cut for a three-year deal. Negotiations with Juventus are ongoing, with the Italian club seeking €20m while Barcelona is reluctant to go above €15m.
Despite the progress in talks, it has been revealed by Cadena SER that the deal will not be finalized this week. The agreement will have to wait until the final week of the transfer window due to concerns about Barcelona’s ability to register Chiesa. With the departure of Ilkay Gundogan, Barcelona will need to make more sales or agreements to make room for Chiesa.
Barcelona is still in the process of registering Dani Olmo, their major signing this year, and it seems that additional sales will be necessary to bring in Chiesa. If Chiesa does join Barcelona, it is anticipated that the club will look to loan out Ansu Fati to accommodate the new arrival.
