Bayer Leverkusen in talks to sign Juventus starlet Dean Huijsen

Bayer Leverkusen has joined the competition to secure the services of Juventus defender Dean Huijsen. The German club is directly engaging with his father in a bid to outmaneuver PSG, Aston Villa, Borussia Dortmund, and Newcastle United in the race for the talented youngster.

Huijsen, who recently completed a loan spell at Roma, is expected to be transferred this summer for a fee of €30m. Juventus intends to utilize the proceeds from his sale to acquire Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta.

While Paris Saint-Germain had emerged as the frontrunners for Huijsen’s signature, recent reports indicate that their interest has waned. Footmercato in France has reported that Bayer Leverkusen is now aggressively pursuing the central defender.

According to sources, Bayer Leverkusen’s coach Xabi Alonso has personally reached out to Huijsen’s father and representatives to explore the possibility of striking a deal.

Huijsen, who hails from Amsterdam and honed his skills in the Malaga youth academy before joining Juventus in 2021, has displayed a knack for goal-scoring despite his primary role as a center-back. He has notched two goals in 14 Serie A appearances and an impressive total of 20 goals in 86 matches throughout his career.
