Bologna in talks for Emil Holm after Atalanta decline option to buy

IF24 Desk

Bologna could be making a move to sign Emil Holm after Atalanta decided against buying him outright.

The Sweden international is searching for a new club despite having a huge role within Gian Piero Gasperini’s team this past season, ending with totals of 4 goals and 1 assist in 32 appearances. He played a big part in Atalanta’s successful season, which saw them win the Europa League title before securing a top-four place in Serie A.

Despite his impressive performances, La Dea chose not to exercise their option to make the move permanent for €8.3 million after already spending €2.5 million to acquire him on loan.

As a result, Sportitalia reports Bologna are currently in negotiations with Spezia to secure Holm on a permanent transfer for around €12 million. They’re working quickly to ward off others club, including Roma and Inter, that are also interested in acquiring him.
