Fiorentina midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura praised his team following their 2-1 victory over Sassuolo this afternoon at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Attacker Nicolás González scored a 91st minute penalty to secure La Viola a last gasp victory over Alessio Dionisi’s side.
“You can’t always win by playing great football,” the former Milan man told DAZN after the final whistle.
“It’s important to win even if you’ve suffered throughout the game. Particularly after the long World Cup break, you’re not always going to be at 100% when play restarts.”
“I still think we can finish in a European place but to do so we need to go on a winning streak. To do that we’ll need to have great performances, a bit of luck, and recover some players who have been out.”
