Lazio is on the brink of finalizing a deal with Gaetano Castrovilli, who is currently a free agent after departing Fiorentina. The 27-year-old initially began his career at Bari before moving to Fiorentina in 2017. Despite facing injury setbacks that caused him to miss 600 matches, Castrovilli emerged as a standout midfielder in Serie A and even earned a spot in Italy’s Euro 2020 squad.
Following the expiration of his contract with Fiorentina, Castrovilli is now poised to join Lazio. Reports suggest that a meeting between the player’s representatives and Lazio’s sporting director Angelo Fabiani has paved the way for the transfer. The deal is said to be close to completion, with Lazio prevailing over competition from Bologna.
Castrovilli is expected to sign a one-year contract with the option for two additional years based on performance milestones. His salary at Lazio is anticipated to exceed €2 million. The agreement underscores the strong relationship between the player’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, and the club.
