Legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is expected to call it quits on his near three-decades long playing career.
Today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport reports the 45 year-old informed Parma of his decision earlier this week. The Serie B side hoped Buffon would play one last season and guide the team to promotion back into Serie A.
However, their optimism was crushed when the ex-Juventus man became the latest in a string of high-profile names to receive a huge offer from Saudi Arabia. Buffon reflected on the proposal but ultimately decided to end his playing career after 28-years of top flight football.
