Looking to make a splash on the transfer market, Cagliari have their sights set on former Roma striker Borja Mayoral.
The Sardinians want to acquire an important name for Claudio Ranieri to help bolster the attacking department that helped secure promotion. Sky Sport reports the club is seriously considering a move for the Spaniard, however, they’re aware it won’t be a simple or inexpensive negotiation.
Getafe purchased Mayoral for €10 million last summer on a permanent deal from Real Madrid and tallied 9 goals and 2 assists in 38 total appearances for the 2022/23 campaign. The club have no intention of letting him leave easily given the important role he played in avoiding relegation.
