Midfielder Danilo Cataldi is close to officially extending his stay with boyhood club Lazio.
Since the arrival of Maurizio Sarri in the Italian capital, Cataldi has transformed into one of the team’s most relied-upon pieces, starting 22 of their 26 league fixtures.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the 28 year-old is extremely close to finalising a new deal with the Biancocelesti, just over a year before his current deal expires in June 2024.
The parties are closing in on an agreement that would prolong his tenure with the club until June 2027 with an option for an additional season. They’re expected to meet sometime within the next 1-2 weeks to put the finishing touches on the deal.
