For the first time since 2012, Milan have advanced to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League.
A save from Mike Maignan at the death secured the Rossoneri a 0-0 draw against Tottenham Hotspurs this evening in London. The result was just enough to secure progression thanks to Milan’s 1-0 victory in the first leg.
Stefano Pioli’s men were impressive against Antonio Conte’s side and gave the English outfit all they could handle despite playing away from home.
We did well tonight,” Pioli told Prime Video. “I asked the team to play with personality and they did so, we never gave up.”
“Over the two games it’s well-deserved progression. We have to take things one step at a time it was important for us to advance to the knockouts after going out in the group stage last year.”
He continued, “Now we’ll wait for the draw knowing full well we’re going to face a great team. Though, let’s remembers that Tottenham is also a great team.”
