In a surprising turn of events, Fabio Grosso has decided to end his time as manager of Frosinone despite guiding the club to promotion back into Serie A.
Club president Maurizio Stirpe revealed the news to TuttoFrosinone, admitting he was surprised by Grosso’s decision not to continue with the Giallazzurri for the upcoming season.
“After the season, I outlined the club’s summer plans to Grosso on 20 May when I told him I needed to know his decision by 9 June,” Stirpe claimed.
“He didn’t respond by then but he sent me a text message on the evening of the 14th, which was very polite and courteous. He outlined the good experience we had together but didn’t feel prepared to continue as manager of the club.”
He added, “I don’t want or need to know more detail but it’s important to remember all we achieved together and how many of the players improved. There’s no row or controversy.”
