Speaking before his side’s friendly match against Inter, Sassuolo executive Giovanni Carnevali reiterated the club’s preference to keep midfielder Davide Frattesi for the remainder of the season.
On multiple occasions in recent months, the Italian international expressed his disappointment in not securing a transfer back to boyhood club Roma this past summer.
“The transfer market will be a long month. We have received requests for some players, but we would like to keep all players including Frattesi,” said Carnevali to Sky Sport.
“We remain vigilant, let’s see what kind of opportunities will come up. As for Roma, we’ve built an important relationship with them over the years, but I want to mention that Frattesi has offers from the Premier League.”
“Everything remains to be seen what the second half has in store for us. Our goal is to continue what we’ve been doing for ten years now and carry on this project of developing young players and giving continuity to the work done by the club.”
