Former Udinese striker Antonio Di Natale weighed-in on hometown club Napoli and the decision of Luciano Spalletti to leave the club following their league title this past season.
Di Natale complimented the club for their feats last season after they secured their first Scudetto in over thirty years.
“I applaud everyone at Napoli for what they achieved, from the president, to the supporters, and to the manager Luciano Spalletti, who’s a good friend of mine,” he told Goal.com.
“All of us Napoletani thank him because he had a fantastic journey with the club and brought us a Scudetto, which we’re still celebrating.”
“As for his decision to leave, certainly it means he felt the cycle was over for him. It’s the right choice when a manager feels there’s nothing more he can give.”
Adding, “It’s never easy to repeat things in the following season. This is something he understood but everyone from Napoli will always be thankful for his exploits.”
