Former Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini weighed in on his former club’s season thus far, including their recent string of positive results.

Interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 45 year-old praised the Rossoneri’s performance in this past weekend’s win over Atalanta and lauded the work of manager Stefano Pioli.

“Milan deserve to progress in the Champions League and put their minds within the circles of the elite football clubs—especially given what they learned in the two years prior,” stated Ambrosini.

“Progression would change the color of the season. The team has grown a lot this year, just look at the positive signs we saw this past weekend against Atalanta.”

He added, “They’re a lot more solid, organised, and have more solutions up front. Pioli has done well to adjust to a new series of factors he didn’t face last season.”
