Appearing on DAZN, Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Italiano gave a wide-ranging interview from discussing his coaching inspirations to elaborating on his team’s inconsistency throughout the season.

La Viola currently sit 14th in the table and lost four of their last five league affairs. Although they recently progressed into the Coppa Italia semi-finals, they haven’t won a league clash since January 7th.

“If my Fiorentina has one defect it’s we produce so many scoring opportunities but fail to finish,” admitted Italiano.

“We need to be more concrete. I prefer utilising a 4-3-3 because I like the space it provides while allowing you to exploit the opponent using width.”

He continued, “Coaching idols? There’s many high level guys such as Prandelli, Malesani, Delneri, Iachini, Gigi Cagni.”

“All of them have left me a lot, sometimes I’d even write down a specific speech they gave or a training drill they did.”
