The transfer market is heating up as Fiorentina moves closer to securing Albert Gudmundsson from Genoa, while Juventus emerges as the frontrunner to sign Nico Gonzalez ahead of Atalanta.
According to reports, talks are set to take place today between Fiorentina and Genoa to finalize the details for Gudmundsson’s potential transfer. Genoa seems more willing this time to let go of the Iceland international on loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season. The deal is estimated to cost around €25m plus additional payments, with at least €5m guaranteed for the one-season loan.
On the other hand, Juventus is now leading the race to acquire Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina, as Atalanta shifts its focus to finding a replacement for the injured Gianluca Scamacca. Fiorentina prefers a cash-only deal for Gonzalez, ruling out any player exchanges, especially if it involves someone like Weston McKennie with high wage demands. This preference for cash-only deals has already caused complications in previous transfer negotiations involving Juventus.
