Fiorentina demands €40m for Nico Gonzalez as Juventus urged to increase bid

IF24 Desk

Juventus and Fiorentina held talks today regarding Nico Gonzalez, but they have not made any progress towards reaching an agreement. The sticking point seems to be the price, with Fiorentina demanding €10m more than Juventus’ offer. Atalanta is also lurking in the background, ready to make a move.

According to reports from Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia, the meeting took place this afternoon but did not result in any significant developments. Juventus has put forward a proposal of €30m with add-ons, structured as a loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season. However, Fiorentina is holding out for €40m to part ways with the Argentine international and has urged Juventus to increase their bid.

Fiorentina has set a price tag for Nico Gonzalez, and if Atalanta were to offload Ademola Lookman, they could enter the race for Gonzalez. Although Paris Saint-Germain seems to have backed off from making an offer, Atalanta is prepared to compete for the player. Gonzalez has yet to feature in any official matches this season, indicating that a move is likely imminent. Fiorentina has made it clear that they will sell to the highest bidder.

The 26-year-old had an impressive season with Fiorentina, scoring 16 goals and providing five assists in 44 competitive appearances. Additionally, discussions between the clubs also involved the potential loan moves of Arthur Melo and Filip Kostic to Fiorentina.
