Fiorentina seeks Juventus aid for McKennie deal

IF24 Desk

Fiorentina is showing strong interest in signing Weston McKennie, but they require assistance from Juventus to finalize the deal. The 25-year-old American midfielder is in the final year of his contract with Juventus and will not be offered an extension as he does not fit into Thiago Motta’s plans for the team.

McKennie has been linked to several potential destinations recently, including Aston Villa, which he turned down as part of the Douglas Luiz transfer, Inter Miami, Fenerbahce, and various Bundesliga clubs.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Fiorentina is eager to acquire McKennie but cannot afford his annual wages of €2.5 million. Therefore, they will need Juventus to contribute financially for the deal to go through. The two clubs are set to meet soon to assess the situation, which is separate from the Nico Gonzalez negotiations. Updates are expected as Juventus seeks a buyer for McKennie.
