Fiorentina’s Pursuit of Genoa Star Intensifies as Inter Milan Falters

Fiorentina is making a strong push to secure the signature of Genoa forward Albert Gudmundsson this summer, while Inter Milan is seemingly backing off, as reported in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews.

It was widely expected that Gudmundsson would be a sought-after player in the Serie A transfer market this summer after his impressive performances for Genoa last season, where he scored fourteen goals and provided seven assists.

Although Inter Milan had been at the forefront in pursuing Gudmundsson, it appears that their interest has cooled off for the time being. The club is focusing on other priorities, and the financial aspects of a potential deal for the Icelandic international might pose challenges.

Despite this, Gudmundsson is reportedly keen on a move to Inter. Other Serie A clubs like Roma, Napoli, and Juventus are also said to be eyeing the talented forward.

Fiorentina had previously attempted to sign Gudmundsson during the January transfer window, but their offer was turned down by Genoa. However, the Tuscan club remains undeterred and is now seriously considering making a fresh bid for the player in the upcoming transfer window.

The competition for Gudmundsson’s signature is expected to be intense, with a Premier League team potentially offering him a tempting deal, especially if they can provide Champions League football.

As Gudmundsson waits to see if Inter will reignite their interest, the Gazzetta reports that the Nerazzurri have currently taken a step back in their pursuit of the Genoa forward.
