Standard Liege Signs Bosko Sutalo to Bolster Defense

Standard Liege has made a significant move in the transfer market by securing the services of Croatian central defender Bosko Sutalo on a long-term deal until 2029. The 24-year-old defender arrives at the club following the expiration of his contract with Dinamo Zagreb, one of Croatia’s top clubs.

Sutalo’s journey to Standard Liege has seen him move across Europe, starting with a €4m transfer to Atalanta from NK Osijek in 2019. Despite limited playing time at Atalanta, Sutalo gained valuable experience during a loan spell at Hellas Verona in Serie A. His return to Croatia with Dinamo Zagreb saw him establish himself as a key player, making 27 appearances and scoring a goal over the past two seasons.

With a number of departures in central defense for Standard Liege this summer, the arrival of Sutalo is a timely boost for the team as they aim to rebuild on a restricted budget. Fans will be hoping that Sutalo can fulfill his potential at the club and provide solidity to the defense for the upcoming 2024/2025 season.

The signing of Bosko Sutalo represents Standard Liege’s commitment to strengthening the squad and competing at the highest level in the upcoming campaign.
