Genoa have made a bold move to secure the services of Djed Spence on a permanent basis, submitting a formal offer to Tottenham for the 23-year-old right-back. Spence, who impressed during his loan spell with the Serie A side in the last six months, could be on the verge of ending his time with the North London club.

Having featured in 16 league games for Genoa since January, Spence has caught the eye of the Italian outfit, prompting them to make a bid for his services. While initially offered to Genoa as part of a deal for Radu Dragusin, Spurs are now considering the offer made by Genoa for Spence’s permanent transfer.

It is understood that Genoa may be looking to negotiate a deal that differs from the €10 million buy option initially agreed upon in the loan agreement. With Spence set to return to Tottenham at the end of his loan deal, Genoa’s formal offer indicates their intention to secure the player on different terms.

Although the details of Genoa’s bid remain undisclosed, it is speculated that they may be looking to acquire Spence for a fee lower than the agreed buy option. The 23-year-old, who does not feature in Ange Postecoglou’s plans at Tottenham, may be open to a permanent move to Italy.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are also looking to revamp their right-back options, with Emerson Royal set to depart for AC Milan. The club is reportedly targeting AS Monaco’s Vanderson as a replacement for Royal, as Postecoglou aims to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.

In conclusion, Genoa’s bid for Djed Spence signifies their interest in securing the talented right-back on a permanent basis. With Tottenham also undergoing changes in their right-back position, Spence could be on the move as both clubs look to strengthen their respective squads for the upcoming campaign.
