Mason Greenwood has reportedly agreed to move to Olympique Marseille from Manchester United, bypassing potential interest from Lazio, Napoli, and Juventus. The transfer fee between Marseille and Manchester United had already been settled last week, but Greenwood had been hesitant, causing uncertainty for all involved.
The delay in Greenwood’s decision was partly due to backlash from the Mayor of Marseille and fans who expressed opposition to his arrival at the Ligue 1 club because of past domestic abuse allegations. The agreed fee for Greenwood’s move amounts to €27.6 million plus €4 million in potential add-ons, with Manchester United entitled to up to 50% of any future transfer fees.
